We are looking for a News Content Editor (production and news gathering) with a passion for news and the creative flair to produce and plan engaging and lively news content for our newspaper and online audiences.
This position receives an monthly monthly wage (400 GEL) and benefits may include health insurance, paid vacation.
Working as a part of a team of The FINANCIAL you will plan content, translate articles, collect press-releases from companies' websites and subscriptions, edit press-releases, update website, be a curator for our online news websites (finchannel.com and financial.ge) and plan and co-ordinate day-to-day news gathering, as required.
Working hours: 10 am - 7 pm
Your excellent editorial judgement and professional journalistic standards - along with your extensive contacts - will equip you to generate a constant flow of original news and feature ideas. You will serve as a point of contact for all ideas from newsroom colleagues. Where appropriate you may be invited to play a leading role in the management and mentoring of our news team.
As our Content Editor you will be an experienced journalist qualified to producing, sourcing or planning content to deadline and under pressure. You will have a proven ability to take a creative approach, both editorially and visually in production and newsgathering and you will have had experience producing bulletins and programmes. Self-motivated and quick-thinking with the ability to work to deadlines and stay calm under pressure, you will be used to multi-tasking and prioritising your work load.
With a passion for news, you will have excellent knowledge of local political and businesss issues. You will also have experience of successfully coaching, managing and motivating others.

To be a good fit for the Business Reporter opportunity, you should have:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Good English writing skills
Proven experience building, maintaining and engaging an active audience
The ability to work under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately
Solid understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics and story structure
Experience with search engine optimization practices
Experience website administration
Experience editing photos in photoshop
Selected candidate should pass one week testing period
